56 Hours

And no one to come home to.

Who do I spend all this money on?

Remember that one time I was like “Fuck it I’m going to buy the Special Edition of Catherine” ?

Well today I was like “Fuck it I bought the Special Edition of Catherine.”

Might pre-order this for the deluxe edition.

Catherine is probably the game I’m most excited for this year.

Dear girl who’s out there for me,

I want this to be our song.  (This version too.)

Frontiers

This is one of the very few moments I almost cried during a horror movie.

Their relationship builds up to this moment, and not with corny flirting and rants about the past.  No this relationship builds tension through an insane family, extreme violence, and the pairs (failed) attempts of escape—  And when she finally breaks down and says this:  Its human.

This photo gives me butterflies in my stomach.

My friends watch Doctor Who all the time and I try so hard everytime to get into it.

But I can’t.

Its not that the shows bad, hell, far from it— Its just my brain automatically goes to Michael-AmyPond-Cuddle-Land and cuts itself off from plot.

I’ve Had An Affair With A Comic Book Character for Every Single One of My Relationships

2

FINALLY FOUND THIS ESSAY I WROTE WHEN I WAS 16 (DAMN I WAS ANGSTY, AND NOT KNOWLEDGEABLE IN COMICS).

TRIED TO CLEAN IT UP AS BEST AS POSSIBLE, PROBABLY STILL UNREADABLE.

Let me go on record saying that I am working very hard not to fall in love so easily.  However, I cannot keep myself from thinking and saying this:  I am in love with Kitty Pryde.

Now, if you are not familiar with Kitty Pryde, let me elaborate.  Kitty Pryde is a young Jewish girl approximately 16-19 (depending on what you read) with long brown hair, freckles, and the ability to walk through walls.  She’s an X-man and no, she does not exist.

With the fact of Kitty not existing, you most likely believe I’m incredibly pathetic for thinking so.  I believe it is quite healthy, so you can go fuck yourself… Sorry sometimes the emotion takes over, I mean if I tried to talk to her and saw her—I’ve would have serious problems.  But I don’t.  She’s just everything I love about life.

Kitty has been interpreted several different ways over the years by various writers and artists but the same things have always remained intact:

1)  She is a teenager, therefore up to date on culture and full of evil, mind-numbing, hormones.

2)  She is the literary foil of Wolverine, who in return, treats her like a surrogate daughter.

3)  She can walk through walls.

Ever since I came to the stark realization that I was in love with an X-woman, I’ve been trying to figure out why:  And it turned out to be a lot simpler then I thought.

Of course I relate to her being a teenager, that’s nothing special.  She always feels alone because she doesn’t have a boyfriend and everyone around her treats her like a little kid.  Her genius IQ makes her smarter than most people around her, making her wish she could just grow up a little bit faster.  Isn’t that what we all want when we’re teenagers, to grow up and have someone to love?  Well, that’s what I wanted most of the time and I was a pompous prick who though he knew everything.

Being a foil, Kitty always manages to tag along on Wolvie’s missions and fuck everything up by trying to be an adult and help.  This is probably why I love her the most, because last time I checked— I’ve fucked up a lot of things around me trying to act cool.  Wolverine doesn’t appreciate it much, but he’s always there to be there and protect her.  We all love the ol’ Canucklehead for being the screwed-up bass ass who can slice fifteen men to death in the blink of an eye, but he’s like the crazy uncle we all grew up with .  And that uncle let us do whatever we though was cool and when it fucked things up, he was there to sort it out:  And laugh about it.

Kitty Pryde’s mutant ability is probably the best metaphor for youth out of her whole personality.  She has the ability to do something completely amazing but everyone’s already seen it 100 times and they all think she needs to grow up and gain some god-damned responsibility.  She wants to grow up more than anything, she tries so hard to be part of the adults she admires everyday and in turn, she is cast off as a child and left to wallow in self-pity a lot of the time.  That pretty much sounds like being a teenager in a nutshell.  Oh, and things go through her, she feels as if no one notices her?  Get it?  Metaphor.

Yet she has the power to save the world, and she knows it.  But nobody gives a fuck.  All she can do is wait. Isn’t that the entire basic psyche of children?

I love my youth, and that’s why I love Kitty Pryde and everything about her:  Hormonal, seemingly under-appreciated, and destined for something great in a dark world.

And she can walk through walls.
